Prospect Park Tree - After Sandy
oil paint on recycled cast paper
73 x 70 x 6 1/2 inches

This piece was cast (molded) directly from a large red oak that fell
in Prospect Park during Hurricane Sandy using 100% recycled paper.
There are three panels and underneath each one is a wooden and wire
armature that gives it support as well as a more rounded feeling.
The work memorializes this tree and the living world that we are
rapidly destroying by releasing too much carbon into the atmosphere
and the general exploitation of our natural environment.
